Celebrating Memorial Day in Vicksburg is a big deal, due to the area’s history as a key location in the Civil War. It also has the second-largest military cemetery in the US, and features a National Military Park. Here are just a few events that will be happening this coming Memorial Day.
One of the simplest ways to honor local soldiers and war veterans is by turning out for the Memorial Day Parade on Washington Street, with several local veteran groups participating, including American Legion and VFW.
Service at Vicksburg Auditorium
Join the community as we remember those lost in the wars of our past at Vicksburg Auditorium during a special service, including a military band.

Following the service at the auditorium, there will be a motorcade to the military cemetery, where there will be speeches and other programs in honor of fallen soldiers who dedicated their lives to defending our country.
