There’s nothing like taking a tuned car ‘round the touge run with tires screaming at every corner. In Motorhead magazine’s latest video feature, Takada and his crew took several racing teams for a special hillclimb event at the Mazda Turnpike of Japan’s Hakone Mountain, and the result was just pure fun for us gearheads.
Our favorite run came from professional D1 GP driver Kawabata Masato, who muscled his Toyo Tires R35 Nissan GT-R drift car in a nail-biting fifth gear, full throttle around the frighteningly-high Hakone bridge!
Veteran Super GT and D1 GP star Nob Taniguchi put on a good show in an attempt to one-up Masato in his tuned HKS GT600 GT-R, but we doubt anything could have trumped that epic drift.
Check out the video below for the full recap of the Motorhead Hill Climb. If that Nissan GT-R looked as mighty to you as it did us, come give it an up-close look at Blackburn Nissan.
Nic Hamman, a Wisconsin native and lifelong racing enthusiast, has won the fourth season of Nissan GT Academy, a program that takes the best virtual Gran Turismo gamers and turns them into real racecar drivers.
Hamman secured his crown in a group of 11 racers on the Silverstone circuit in England, driving a Nissan 370Z on the road course. Far from the world of PlayStation, these racers faced entirely real conditions.
“The whole thing has been an awesome experience for me,” Hamman told Nissan. “I can’t thank everyone at Nissan, Sony PlayStation and Silverstone enough for giving me this opportunity and believing in me.”
It’s programs like Nissan GT Academy that make Nissan such an interactive and forward-thinking company. That attitude is clearly reflected in Nissan’s vehicles, which are always intuitive, innovative, and efficient.
Visit us at Blackburn Nissan to check out one of the many available models we have in store. Congratulations to the Nissan GT Academy Season 4 winner, Nic Hamman!

Not many people can make a statement while cleaning walls, but that’s exactly what reverse graffiti founder and artist Moose did when Nissan commissioned him to create a mural in London using power from the Nissan LEAF.
Reverse graffiti is the art of using a jet washer to clean layers of dirt and grime from walls, creating an artistic design. Moose’s mural of the London skyline on a subway wall in Waterloo, London is a clear picture of the damage caused by vehicle exhaust and the power of the zero emissions Nissan LEAF.
“This piece of art is a striking call to action that air quality is one of the biggest issues facing the citizens and visitors of Europe’s largest cities today,” said Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Nissan Europe’s EV director. “It is a reminder that electric vehicles don’t have an exhaust to emit the kind of air pollution which has stained the wall Moose has created his piece on. Working with Moose to highlight the effect of air quality on our cities through a piece of art powered by the Nissan LEAF is an exciting and powerful way of reminding people about the benefits of zero emission vehicles.”
We at Blackburn Nissan are incredibly impressed with the reverse graffiti mural. We’re even more impressed with the positive impact even a single LEAF can have.
The glove box isn’t the part of a car many people give a thought to. Along with the center console bin and side door storage, the glove box is often used as a catch-all for Happy Meal toys, expired insurance cards, and shopping receipts. To ensure that you can find what you need, when you need it—like your registration when you get pulled over—follow these tips on how to organize your glove box and maximize your storage space while enjoying a clutter-free car!
Make piles. To start your glove box-cleaning adventure, go through the bits and pieces of riffraff in your glove box, sorting it in to different piles. Keep in the glove box what you absolutely need—no, that doesn’t include your child’s Frozen toy—and throw away or move to another place anything you don’t need. Shred expired insurance cards, throw away expired coupons, and make sure everything that is to stay in your glove box belongs there.
Use some elbow grease. Before you begin gathering everything that is staying in your glove box, make sure you give it a quick once over with a simple solution of dish soap and water to clean up the dust inside. Lysol wipes also work, along with any number of the dashboard car cleaners out there. For something other than vinyl or plastic, a lint brush can also do the trick.
Focus on organization. As you begin to place objects back into the glove box, try to make it logical, keeping your registration and proof of insurance together and making it easy to access your owner’s manual. Also, using plastic sleeves to hold everything is always a great idea, along with book marking pages in your manual that you will use often.
By following these tips on how to organize your glove box, you will ensure yours always stays tidy! Do you have any tips you would like to share? Tell us about them below!

Earlier this month, Nissan hinted that it was going to reveal an all-new playable concept for the Gran Turismo 6 game. Now, we finally get to see it and it is spectacular!
The Nissan Gran Turismo Concept 2020 will be available for in-game download starting in July and we’re sure players will be eagerly waiting to get behind the wheel of this bad boy.
This car is part of Gran Turismo’s Vision Concept program, which invites automakers to create concept cars exclusively for the Gran Turismo game. What makes Nissan’s Concept 2020 stand apart, is that Nissan has said this car is a distinct vision of a future Nissan supercar (read: GT-R). And, Nissan has even strongly hinted that this concept will be seen in the metal, possibly at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.
If you want a glimpse of what your future game play could look like, check out this video of the Nissan Concept 2020 in action.
What features from the Nissan Concept 2020 would you love to see in a new Nissan GT-R?
