While some competitors are moving away from mid-size sedans altogether, Nissan is committed to reinventing the segment with the all-new 2019 Nissan Altima. The new Altima, set to launch this fall, will be offered with two new engine options, available ProPILOT Assist safety technology, and the first-ever application of Intelligent All-Wheel Drive to a Nissan sedan..
“Our goal with the all-new Altima is to re-energize the sedan segment—in terms of design, driving feel and in making advanced technologies available and affordable for everyone,” said Nissan Chief Performance Officer José Muñoz. “We want to energize drivers, helping make their lives safer, less stressful, and more exciting.”
The 2019 Nissan Altima will be offered with the world’s first production-ready variable compression turbo inline-four, which replaces the outgoing Altima’s 3.5-liter V6. The cutting-edge 2.0-liter VC-Turbo is expected to be considerably more efficient than the V6 while offering an impressive output of 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.
“With the VC-Turbo, the driver balances the engine character through acceleration pedal operation alone. This ‘two engines in one’ is another way Altima stands far apart from all other vehicles in the segment,” said Muñoz.
The new Altima is also more stylish, more intelligent, and—with the addition of available ProPILOT Assist and Safety Shield 360 with Rear Automatic Braking—safer than ever. Other automakers are backing down when it comes to making sedans you want to drive, but Nissan is charging forward, full steam ahead.

The automotive industry is quickly bringing more and more technologies to the road, whether they’re for safety or convenience. That can be overwhelming for many drivers, but Nissan has a plan to help people understand the latest innovation. The Nissan-Star Wars partnership is bringing out special cars designed to do just that.
Lucasfilm, creators of the popular franchise, partnered with the Nissan Design Team to create vehicles geared towards helping people understand technologies. The team matched various Nissan vehicles, namely an Altima, Maxima, two Rogue crossovers, and a Titan, to Star Wars characters.
Many of the vehicles are inspired by the franchise’s most recent movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The Nissan Maxima, for example, took on Kylo Ren’s personality. Red underside lighting and a mask of milled aluminum are reminiscent of the popular character.
More Than Just Cool Vehicles
The designs aren’t all about just creating a cool vehicle though. Nissan is using the vehicles to help customers understand its suite of driver-assistance technologies. Some technologies, such as ProPILOT Assist, offer semi-autonomous driving capabilities, like braking and steering at highway speeds.
Where to See These Vehicles
While all the Star Wars-inspired Nissan vehicles won’t be available for purchase at dealerships, they will be making appearances at major auto shows.
We here at Blackburn Nissan are happy to see Star Wars-themed Nissan vehicles continuing to help people understand the latest technological developments!
The 2017 Titan King Cab is causing quite a stir, offering a slot between the Single Cab and Crew Cab models. Like many similar cab configurations, the King Cab comes with a hinge in the rear to allow the doors to swing 170 degrees for easy access.
According to Motor Trend, the King Cab is designed to meet the needs of customers looking for added space. One unique option is the King Cab configuration that allows you to get rid of the rear seat and replace it with a flat floor. This provides secure storage inside the cab, a feature that you won’t find on competitors.
“The affordable premium pickup has been around for only 13 years, but it’s well-equipped to challenge [competitors],” said Chris Constantine at The Drive. “Now the Titan and Titan XD will get a King Cab version for those who want a middle ground between the massive Crew Cab and a Regular Cab.”
The Titan and Titan XD come with a standard 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine that gets up to 390 horsepower, though you can also opt for a 5.0-liter Cummins® turbo diesel as well. Promising added space and impressive power, the Nissan Titan is great as a work truck. At Blackburn Nissan, we couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming King Cab.
The Nissan Rogue is a vehicle designed to take on the toughest terrain and tightest corners with ease which makes it perfect for a “Star Wars” commercial. The 30-second spot is slated to air on television while the 60-second ad is currently available for your viewing pleasure on Nissan’s YouTube channel.

Back when it first made its debut on the market, the Nissan Armada—like other full-size SUVs—wasn’t built to be a smart, technology-packed vehicle. However, 2017 is a new era, and the new Nissan Armada for the 2017 model year makes use of plentiful tech to compete in a segment and automotive market that increasingly rely on connectivity features to sell vehicles.
It doesn’t disappoint, thanks to new safety systems, a new Around-View monitor, and various other strides in performance that make it a great off-roading vehicle.
The Around-View Monitor is useful in multiple situations, from backing up, to changing lanes on the highway, to navigating difficult terrain. This is due to its ability to display a bird’s-eye view of the area around the Armada. Additionally, the Nissan Armada has several of the most “basic” safety tech systems, like blind spot detection and lane departure warning.
The Nissan Armada is also built on the same Patrol platform as the Infiniti QX80, which means you get the look and space of a luxury-class vehicle for a fraction of the cost. Premium features like a 13-speaker Bose audio system, an 8-inch color touch radio, and LED exterior lights come standard on the Armada, too, so you won’t be missing any amenities, either.
The new Nissan Armada offers a ton more features for families in need of a large hauler, so make sure you check out the new 2017 model year loaded with technology and luxury materials. We’ve got the new Armada on our lot here in Vicksburg. Be sure to stop by Blackburn Nissan to check it out!

The new 2016 Nissan Titan XD is ready to make a serious impact in the pickup truck world. Big changes and small changes make the Titan a standout this year.
The biggest development in the new Titan is the Cummins 5.0-liter V8 engine, a first for the Titan. It’s turbocharged, with an output of 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque.
Not only this, but the full-size pickup was also named the “Truck of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association in its annual 2015 Texas Truck Rodeo. This was the competition’s top award; the Titan XD also earned the Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas, Off-Road Pickup Truck of Texas, and Best Powertrain awards.
The Titan XD has a lot to brag about. In addition to taking home these awards, it has some great features that make it truly amazing. Innovative available technologies like the Integrated Trailer Brake Controller and Trailer Sway Control help you utilize the Titan XD’s potential while feeling comfortable and in control.
Upon unveiling the NP300 Navara crossover pickup, Nissan has revealed its goal of combining the off-roading capabilities, durability, and capacity of the Navara with all the refined comfort and luxury of a crossover. The all-new vehicle brings the style and quality of a car to the practicality of a pickup truck.
A tough chassis has a host of engineering innovations and features to enhance handling, and the NP300 Navara itself utilizes the same crossover platform that was used to create reputable vehicles such as the Juke, Qashqai, and X-Trail. In addition, the NP300 Navara makes use of such cutting-edge safety features as an Around View Monitor, Forward Emergency Braking, Cruise Control, Hill Descent Control, and Hill Start Assist.
Inside, the design of the seats was inspired by NASA technology, while the sculpted design of the dashboard gives the cabin an open feel. The engine is a 2.3-liter dCi engine, considered the cleanest and most economical in its segment and touted as 24% more efficient than previous engines.
The NP300 Navara crossover pickup has improved towing and load capabilities as well to keep up with the pickup market, while also maintaining the stylish design cues and comfort of a car. Four-wheel drive capabilities also ensure the vehicle has just enough traction off the road as on the road. Overall, the Nissan NP300 Navara fuses smooth luxury with rugged practicality.
Most mid-cycle refreshes are light updates to keep a model year from becoming passé before its next generation. However, the 2016 Altima is receiving one of the most dramatic makeovers ever seen in Nissan’s history. With better performance, new looks, improved safety features, and the best fuel economy in its class, the 2016 Nissan Altima facelift gives it an edge in the competitive midsize sedan market.
The Altima by itself is difficult to improve; the outgoing model is touted by Nissan as the only midsize sedan with five consecutive years of sales growth. The refreshed 2016 model, however, employs the use of Nissan’s new, more aerodynamic Energetic Flow design language, an aspect of its design that it shares with the new Murano and Maxima.
The Altima comes with a new grille, bumper, fenders, hood, headlamps, and a redesign front fascia that gives it a more muscular appearance. The technology features added include the NissanConnect infotainment system, which comes with a variety of audio and navigational features and options. In addition, the sedan will be offered in seven trim levels, including the sporty SR trim that comes with 18” wheels, a more rigid suspension, fog lamps, and a rear spoiler.
The 2016 Nissan Altima facelift gives the car a more sleek and dramatic appearance, keeping it stylish and packed with cutting-edge features in the face of competitors. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the new model is expected to be available sometime in November.
The new Nissan Maxima has been redesigned specifically to make it one of the sportiest sedans on the market today. The new 2016 model really takes the self-touted “four-door sports sedan” identity to the next level thanks to a full redesign, including an improved platform and powertrain features. The Maxima is now 2.2 inches longer and 1.3 inches lower to the ground than the previous model, giving it an even more aerodynamic look and driving experience.
The new Maxima also has a new exterior design, which looks sportier than the previous model but also brings the Maxima closer in looks to the rest of the Nissan lineup. For example, it now has the famous V-shaped grill design, comes with bold exterior styling overall, and offers tons of great trim options and extra features as well. The trims go from the baseline S trim all the way up to the Platinum trim, which comes with LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, and premium leather seats.
The Maxima is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 with 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque, combined with a continuously-variable transmission (CVT). The powertrain is a front-wheel-drive setup, and lets it go up to 60 mph in just six seconds. With all that power and luxury, the new Maxima is obviously the best choice in the luxury sedan segment. Come see us at Blackburn Nissan to learn about the Maxima and the rest of our lineup today.
