The Nissan GT-R boasts a long and prestigious history and, over the past half-century, has worked its way into the hearts of car enthusiasts everywhere. As a tribute to this remarkable vehicle, Nissan unveiled the 2020 Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition at the 2019 New York International Show, and it made quite the splash. From its increased performance potential to its beautifully modern design, the new GT-R definitely impresses.
The Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition elegantly balances style and grace. The car will be offered in three different heritage-era exterior color combinations, paying homage to the car’s original colors. For instance, the Bayside Blue finish returns to the GT-R for the 50th Anniversary Edition, offering a bright exterior that includes fun racing stripes. A Peal White edition with red stripes and a Super Silver edition with white stripes will also be available.
The bold style of the GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition extends to its interior, which features a gray interior color scheme and a luxurious design. The 50th Anniversary Edition offers a distinctive steering wheel and shift knob, special embossed seats, and luxurious Alcantara® leather accents. To entertain you while you conquer the road, the special edition features a NissanConnect™ integrated audio, navigation, and communication system with an 8-inch touch-panel display.

Nissan has a proud history of working with Habitat for Humanity. Earlier this year, Nissan announced that the partnership it shares with Habitat for Humanity had successfully reached a whole new dimension. Nissan and Habitat for Humanity worked together to produce the Nissan Ultimate Work TITAN.
The Ultimate Work TITAN is the latest in a series of custom vehicles built by Nissan for its Calling All TITANs campaign. The truck, based upon a Nissan TITAN XD Diesel Crew Cab Midnight Edition, was tailor-made for Habitat for Humanity’s workers.
To determine what this custom pickup truck should include, Nissan and Habitat for Humanity spent time talking to the latter’s worksite supervisors and volunteers. Those workers noted three things the custom TITAN should possess:
- Off-road capability
- An interior akin to a mobile office
- A bed filled with useful tools
The decision to use the TITAN XD Diesel Crew Cab Midnight Edition as a base for the custom TITAN model certainly addressed that first requirement, although Nissan went the extra mile by adding ICON Alloys REBOUND wheels and other exterior features to the truck. To make the TITAN cabin feel more like an indoor office, Nissan included a 13-inch laptop and a backseat computer storage space for said laptop. Finally, the appropriate tools, including a full-size ladder, were added to the bed and roof of the custom pickup truck.
Since 2005, Nissan has donated 150 trucks and $16.9 million to Habitat for Humanity. Here at Blackburn Nissan, we are proud to represent an automaker that does so much to give back to the community.
Before you make your final decision to buy a car, you need to take it out for a test drive. However, a test drive is more than just driving around the block. Here are five tips for taking a test drive that will help you make the most of your experience.
- Do a thorough visual inspection. Before you start the engine, walk around the car and look for any dents, rust, and cracks. Test the exterior lights and look at the tire tread.
- Idle the car. Take a seat inside and start the engine. Sit in the car for a few minutes and listen any troubling sounds. While you’re there, you can also test the radio, make sure the seats are comfortable, and try both the heater and air conditioner.
- Do stop-and-go driving. Do some normal city driving with frequent stops and turns. How does the car feel when you stop? Do you hear any squeaking noises? Does the car offer a comfortable ride over rough roads?
- Do some highway driving. Head to the highway to drive at least 55 mph. Does the car accelerate easily? Are the gear shifts smooth? Test out highway features like cruise control.
- Practice parking. Find a good place to park and practice both parallel and perpendicular parking. Does the car shift easily into reverse? Do any advanced parking features like a rear-view camera work properly?
Now that you know what to do, do it at Blackburn Nissan. We’ve got all the latest vehicles from Nissan in stock and ready to try.
Compact crossovers are red-hot these days, and they don’t get any hotter — or, for that matter, cooler — than the 2018 Nissan Kicks. The all-new Kicks balances every consideration of what you’d want in a crossover, from tech and intelligence to style and poise. The result is an impressive vehicle that’s got quite a lot to offer.
On the inside, the Kicks is cozy and comfortable with a clean, stylish layout, Zero Gravity seats, and 93.9 cubic feet of total passenger volume that tops some of the segment’s stalwarts. For shopping and taking trips, the Kicks offers 25.3 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 32.3 cubic feet of space with the seats down. Whether it’s bringing the kids to school or running out to pick up groceries, the Kicks has you covered.
The 2018 Nissan Kicks is an ideal choice for the individual thanks to Kicks Color Studio, which allows you to customize your ride down to the finest detail. Not only do you have the option to select a contrast roof, but you can match it to your choice of the door handle, mirror cap, bumper accents, wheels, and spoiler. The result is a vehicle that is definitively and completely all yours.
To experience why the 2018 Nissan Kicks is no mere compact crossover, stop into Blackburn Nissan for a test drive.
While some competitors are moving away from mid-size sedans altogether, Nissan is committed to reinventing the segment with the all-new 2019 Nissan Altima. The new Altima, set to launch this fall, will be offered with two new engine options, available ProPILOT Assist safety technology, and the first-ever application of Intelligent All-Wheel Drive to a Nissan sedan..
“Our goal with the all-new Altima is to re-energize the sedan segment—in terms of design, driving feel and in making advanced technologies available and affordable for everyone,” said Nissan Chief Performance Officer José Muñoz. “We want to energize drivers, helping make their lives safer, less stressful, and more exciting.”
The 2019 Nissan Altima will be offered with the world’s first production-ready variable compression turbo inline-four, which replaces the outgoing Altima’s 3.5-liter V6. The cutting-edge 2.0-liter VC-Turbo is expected to be considerably more efficient than the V6 while offering an impressive output of 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.
“With the VC-Turbo, the driver balances the engine character through acceleration pedal operation alone. This ‘two engines in one’ is another way Altima stands far apart from all other vehicles in the segment,” said Muñoz.
The new Altima is also more stylish, more intelligent, and—with the addition of available ProPILOT Assist and Safety Shield 360 with Rear Automatic Braking—safer than ever. Other automakers are backing down when it comes to making sedans you want to drive, but Nissan is charging forward, full steam ahead.

The automotive industry is quickly bringing more and more technologies to the road, whether they’re for safety or convenience. That can be overwhelming for many drivers, but Nissan has a plan to help people understand the latest innovation. The Nissan-Star Wars partnership is bringing out special cars designed to do just that.
Lucasfilm, creators of the popular franchise, partnered with the Nissan Design Team to create vehicles geared towards helping people understand technologies. The team matched various Nissan vehicles, namely an Altima, Maxima, two Rogue crossovers, and a Titan, to Star Wars characters.
Many of the vehicles are inspired by the franchise’s most recent movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The Nissan Maxima, for example, took on Kylo Ren’s personality. Red underside lighting and a mask of milled aluminum are reminiscent of the popular character.
More Than Just Cool Vehicles
The designs aren’t all about just creating a cool vehicle though. Nissan is using the vehicles to help customers understand its suite of driver-assistance technologies. Some technologies, such as ProPILOT Assist, offer semi-autonomous driving capabilities, like braking and steering at highway speeds.
Where to See These Vehicles
While all the Star Wars-inspired Nissan vehicles won’t be available for purchase at dealerships, they will be making appearances at major auto shows.
We here at Blackburn Nissan are happy to see Star Wars-themed Nissan vehicles continuing to help people understand the latest technological developments!
The 2017 Titan King Cab is causing quite a stir, offering a slot between the Single Cab and Crew Cab models. Like many similar cab configurations, the King Cab comes with a hinge in the rear to allow the doors to swing 170 degrees for easy access.
According to Motor Trend, the King Cab is designed to meet the needs of customers looking for added space. One unique option is the King Cab configuration that allows you to get rid of the rear seat and replace it with a flat floor. This provides secure storage inside the cab, a feature that you won’t find on competitors.
“The affordable premium pickup has been around for only 13 years, but it’s well-equipped to challenge [competitors],” said Chris Constantine at The Drive. “Now the Titan and Titan XD will get a King Cab version for those who want a middle ground between the massive Crew Cab and a Regular Cab.”
The Titan and Titan XD come with a standard 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine that gets up to 390 horsepower, though you can also opt for a 5.0-liter Cummins® turbo diesel as well. Promising added space and impressive power, the Nissan Titan is great as a work truck. At Blackburn Nissan, we couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming King Cab.
Nissan is always innovating and creating new ways to stay ahead of the pack, and with the 2017 Nissan Altima, they are doing just that with some new safety tech. While driver-assist and -alert features are quickly becoming standard in the auto industry under the pressure of more restrictive safety test requirements and competition, Nissan is always finding new features to add to the mix, such as the new automatic emergency braking system.
Automatic emergency braking will come with the SV and SL trim levels produced last month in June. The system works exactly as it says; it senses potential collisions before they happen and automatically applies the brakes to reduce or avoid the impact. The introduction of this new safety system follows close on the heels of Nissan updating the Rogue crossover recently to also include the new feature standard.
If you want to get your hands on the new safety tech in the 2017 Nissan Altima, you’ll have to keep that in mind when you head to the dealership. The change occurred mid-model year, so it may be difficult to discern between the trims with or without the automatic emergency braking system. Just ask the team at Blackburn Nissan and our friendly employees will help you find the Nissan Altima you’re looking for.
Everyone looks good in black. But did you know that every Nissan looks pretty darn sleek in all black, too? Thankfully, it just got a whole lot easier—and cheaper—to give your Nissan vehicle an urban, stylish look. This is thanks to the new Nissan Midnight Packages, which dress your Nissan in black details for a dark and handsome appearance.
The Nissan Midnight Package isn’t exactly new. It first made an appearance in 2015 on a TV awards program, and was then featured on the Nissan Maxima. The brand had no plans to market it, but they didn’t have to. People saw the look and loved it. They began calling to inquire how they could buy a Maxima that looked like that. Nissan gave the people what they wanted and created a black-on-black package on the Maxima SR. The package made the look much more affordable than buying every part separately as dealer options.
The Midnight Package has been so popular that it’s made up 85% of all Maxima SR sales. With success like that, Nissan figured it was time to share the love. You’ll now find Midnight Packages on six different vehicles—the Sentra, Altima, Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder, and the Maxima. For your next car, consider paying a visit to Blackburn Nissan and choosing a Nissan with a polished, urban, black-on-black look.
When consumers can’t decide what to buy, they turn to the Internet and professional reviews for help, especially when it’s for a vehicle that’s a little out of the ordinary. When it comes to pickup trucks, the go-to is typically an American brand, but iTech Post shook up expectations a little bit when its Nissan Titan review expressed all-around praise for the Japanese pickup, which showcased everything from family-friendly comfort to top-of-the-line power.
The 2017 Nissan Titan offers a Crew Cab model with available Zero Gravity seats for optimized comfort, allowing for spacious interiors that can haul the whole family. Additionally, tons of storage and cargo space in the cabin, under the seats, and in a cargo organizer in the truck bed allow for additional room. The 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine cranks out 390 horsepower matched to a seven-speed transmission for a smooth performance and heavy-lifting.
If you’re looking for a pickup truck that veers away from the mainstream market but still preserves the bold, modern attitude of a great truck, along with all of the versatile configurations and features that can accommodate a family, iTech Post’s Nissan Titan review promises both of these. There’s also plenty of innovative capability engineered into the 2017 Titan’s powertrain, so make sure you give it a look if you’re in the market for a new truck.
