Nissan is celebrating 10 years of partnership with Habitat for Humanity with a new $1 million grant that will go toward building affordable, sustainable homes for families in need of decent housing, and to support Habitat’s disaster response efforts.
Nissan will also donate five Nissan NV commercial vehicles or Nissan Frontier trucks to Habitat affiliates committed to sustainable construction practices.
The automaker has been helping Habitat in numerous ways since 2005, when it partnered with the organization to help in the relief effort following Hurricane Katrina and Rita. At the time, Nissan donated 50 trucks and mobilized employees to assist in building homes.
Over the last 10 years, Nissan has contributed more than $13 million to Habitat for Humanity in North America, donated an additional 78 vehicles, and logged more than 70,000 volunteer hours to help build 63 homes and serve 569 families across the country. Those are just some of the highlights from the company’s 10 years with Habitat for Humanity. Blackburn Nissan couldn’t be more proud to be part the efforts.
