Nissan Expands Availability of Popular Midnight Packages

Everyone looks good in black. But did you know that every Nissan looks pretty darn sleek in all black, too? Thankfully, it just got a whole lot easier—and cheaper—to give your Nissan vehicle an urban, stylish look. This is thanks to the new Nissan Midnight Packages, which dress your Nissan in black details for a dark and handsome appearance.

2017 Nissan Midnight Package Lineup - Vicksburg, MS

The Nissan Midnight Package isn’t exactly new. It first made an appearance in 2015 on a TV awards program, and was then featured on the Nissan Maxima. The brand had no plans to market it, but they didn’t have to. People saw the look and loved it. They began calling to inquire how they could buy a Maxima that looked like that. Nissan gave the people what they wanted and created a black-on-black package on the Maxima SR. The package made the look much more affordable than buying every part separately as dealer options.

The Midnight Package has been so popular that it’s made up 85% of all Maxima SR sales. With success like that, Nissan figured it was time to share the love. You’ll now find Midnight Packages on six different vehicles—the Sentra, Altima, Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder, and the Maxima. For your next car, consider paying a visit to Blackburn Nissan and choosing a Nissan with a polished, urban, black-on-black look.

2016 Nissan Maxima Named to 2016 Wards 10 Best Interiors List

It was announced in mid-April that the 2016 Nissan Maxima has made the 2016 Wards 10 Best Interiors List. Wards states that the Maxima’s interior “competes with more expensive cars” and has “spectacular touches” that improve the look and feel.

The Maxima’s interior is anchored by its fighter jet-inspired cockpit. Wards cited the Maxima’s expert craftsmanship, sophisticated color scheme, and the accents to the trim and seating surfaces.47 nominees were chosen as finalists for the 10 Best List, among them the Nissan Altima and TITAN.

The 10 Best Interiors List is chosen by a panel of eight judges from WardsAuto who test each vehicle not just for looks but for comfort, ergonomics, the driver information display, the materials used, and safety. They also consider the value of the car in relation to the quality of the interior.

The winners will be honored at the WardsAuto Interiors Conference, which will take place on May 11th in Detroit.

Nissan Earns a Whole Bunch of IIHS Top Safety Ratings

Four Nissan models have received IIHS Top Safety ratings. Is this a big deal? Yes! Why? Because the IIHS (or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) is one of the strictest and prestigious safety associations in America, and getting the nod from them is like an automotive medal of honor. And Nissan racked up a whopping four.

The 2016 Nissan Rogue and the 2016 Nissan Sentra were both named IIHS Top Safety Picks, meaning that they ranked “Good” or higher in all five of the IIHS’s crashworthiness test categories.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima and the 2016 Nissan Murano each earned the highest of the IIHS Top Safety ratings: the Top Safety Pick+. To earn that coveted little plus-sign, a vehicle must not only earn those five “Good” ratings, but also score and “Advanced” or “Superior” in front crash prevention systems.

New Nissan Maxima Brings Sportier Driving Experience to Sedan Segment

The new Nissan Maxima has been redesigned specifically to make it one of the sportiest sedans on the market today. The new 2016 model really takes the self-touted “four-door sports sedan” identity to the next level thanks to a full redesign, including an improved platform and powertrain features. The Maxima is now 2.2 inches longer and 1.3 inches lower to the ground than the previous model, giving it an even more aerodynamic look and driving experience.

The new Maxima also has a new exterior design, which looks sportier than the previous model but also brings the Maxima closer in looks to the rest of the Nissan lineup. For example, it now has the famous V-shaped grill design, comes with bold exterior styling overall, and offers tons of great trim options and extra features as well. The trims go from the baseline S trim all the way up to the Platinum trim, which comes with LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, and premium leather seats.

The Maxima is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 with 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque, combined with a continuously-variable transmission (CVT). The powertrain is a front-wheel-drive setup, and lets it go up to 60 mph in just six seconds. With all that power and luxury, the new Maxima is obviously the best choice in the luxury sedan segment. Come see us at Blackburn Nissan to learn about the Maxima and the rest of our lineup today.
