The Nissan brand already boasts America’s best-selling EV, the Nissan LEAF, but it’s not content to stop there. A secret recently came to light—Nissan is currently in the process of creating a new battery with a 250 mile EV range. The new battery, if it’s real and successful, will transform the EV market completely—and push Nissan even further into the lead.
“[w]e continue our R&D efforts because we believe that we can do more with battery electric, and very soon take the issue of range off of the table,” said Jeff Kuhlman, Nissan’s head spokesman said. “In other words, cars with a comparable range to today’s petrol vehicles.”
That would indeed be a huge accomplishment. Range is generally the biggest obstacle to converting customers to EV technology—it’s simply not practical for some people, no matter how quickly the cars can be recharged. Hopefully, soon, that objection will be a thing of the past. Come see us at Blackburn Nissan to learn more!
