As they say, a little preparation goes a long way. Keeping up with routine car maintenance is of the utmost importance for your vehicle’s health and longevity, and a great way to stay on top of it is to perform seasonal vehicle checks, preparing your vehicle for the season ahead. Here are some tips on preparing your car for spring.
Give your car a good cleaning: To preserve your car’s exterior paint job, it’s a great idea to thoroughly clean it in the spring. You should also clean out the interior, vacuuming the upholstery and carpets and clearing out any trash that has accumulated on the interior.
Check your tires: Before the spring rains, you should check your tire pressure and your tires’ tread depth. Appropriate tire pressure increases efficiency and promotes even wear, while adequate tread depth helps maintain traction and control on slippery roads.
Check your windshield wiper blades: It’s also important to have effective wiper blades in the springtime, as they help maintain visibility when it’s raining. Check your wiper blades to make sure they’re not cracked or streaking when in use.
Check your oil: Adequate engine oil promotes a clean, optimally-functioning engine. It also helps keep your engine cool, which is particularly important when the weather begins to warm.
